I thought I would next post from China but here is bonus. Finished my last day of work today - was at the office until 9 cranking away but except for one last e-mail, work is about as wrapped up as it can be. Mom and Dad drove up today which was terrific. David could have left work to get Indigo and come home for evening (he is working again tomorrow) but because Mom and Dad arrived, they were able to help us by getting Indigo and feeding her and the dog while we stayed at work late. Yesterday, Indigo and I were able to meet up with Ellen and Sarah - it was very nice. Ellen surprised me with this huge box of stuff that she had embroidered for our family. Shirts for everyone! Granny is already wearing hers tonight! I am sure you'll see these shirts featured in China! I was overwhelmed with emotion. Indigo is going to be so happy sporting her "big sister" shirt. Ellen and her family have just lost a precious family member - Sarah's beloved Ye Ye who traveled with us to China to bring her home. We mourn the loss of him and hope that everyone will hold their family in their thoughts and prayers. Bill was a very sweet and loving man and we were privileged to have met and spent time with him.
Also, about 5 hour, 45 minutes from now, our friend Laura Beth and her family (husband Adam, son Ben and daughter Eliana) leave for China to adopt their Mei Mei - you can follow their blog here: http://middlemeimei.blogspot.com/ We are so excited to be traveling with them - our plane departs 24 hours later. Their daughter is in Hubei but we'll be in Guangzhou the same time, although with different agencies and at different hotels. However, we'll be with them in Beijing and Xian and so that will be super exciting. Laura Beth's mom is traveling with them too and then when we get to Beijing her sister and her nephew will join too. We'll be in Beijing for Chinese Lunar New Year! It would really help if I got us packed and ready to go...
Grandma Lee will meet us in Shanghai!
Glad to hear everything went well at work. Hopefully the packing will be just as successful!

ReplyDeleteMelanie's mom here. I hope all you blog readers are also comment readers, so will see this. I spoke with Granddad via Skype in his Shanghai hotel room this morning, and thus far Melanie has not been able to access Google to update the blog at all. She'll keep trying, but it may be that she'll have to email news to me here in Myrtle Beach, and then I'll do the posting for her if I can. I trust you'll all be patient and understanding:)
