Wide awake!

It is just shy of 2am and I am wide awake thinking about the events that will happen today. So much excitement and so many concerns. Isaac does not know us and does not know that we have been waiting to come to him. He may be very sad and upset and he may be grieving for losing what he knows and the people he loves. Isaac may "shut down" and we may not have a clue as to what is going on with him. I worry that his reactions may scare Indigo but I also think that she will help him so much to be part of our family. I am worried about how I will have two of them ready to go by 8 am on Tuesday when we have all the official business. Denise, our guide told us that he will like sweet things because in Suzhou they add a little sugar to everything - it seems like a tiny thing to know about him and his background. Coming here to Nanjing on the train, everytime we saw a small boy we all got choked up so emotions are running high. Last night I took a photo of Indigo sleeping so soundly on her beloved kitty pillow (will try to post some photos - a lot of technical difficulties). I took the photo because tonight I will have another sleeping angel (well, we hope so...) and that was just a capture of the last time our magnificent Indigo will be an only child - she will be a jie jie (big sister). We obviously hope that it will be wonderful for her but don't doubt the trials and tribulations. I best sign off - typing on blackberry under cover of blanket but Indigo is stirring and I have already woken poor David.

  2. Oh I remember those bittersweet emotions so well. Trust me, there will soon come a day that you don't remember life before Isaac. Can't wait to see pictures of the two sleeping soundly!

  3. Try not to worry, children are quite resilient, he'll flourish under your love and kindness, plus Indigo will help him to acclimate. Try not to worry about the little things, like getting them both ready by 8:00, you'll be surprised by how you settle into a routine. I have every confidence in your abilities.
